There’s that day in your life when you experience the impact of your past decisions.

There’s that day you wonder “did I make the right choice…did I do what’s best…?” It’s not so much about second-guessing yourself…I mean, we all do that. We all have moments when we wonder if we made the right choice and wonder what things would be like had we taken the other road…

Though…there’s that day when you smile and know that all is right with the world. The choices agonized over for years, now seem to be supported by ease and grace.

There’s that day when you feel peace and happiness.

There’s that day when moving on and moving forward doesn’t include a rear-view mirror.

The day when the road ahead is curvy, bright and fresh. The unknown still lies ahead, but clarity and calm light the way.

Today was that day. When I knew without a doubt that I had made the right decision a long time ago. Today was that day when I met my ex-husband’s girlfriend. Today was that day that I felt truly happy to see him happy with someone else. To breathe deeply and exhale with a smile. To plant that little seed of friendship and respect…and pray that it grows into something incredible.

The day when events seem to become footnotes in a new chapter, rather than the title of the book.

Today was that day.
