kickball

In a few days, I’ll be joining many of my fellow HR colleagues in Chicago at the #SHRM13 conference… to play kickball. Yes, I said it. Kickball. I know, I know….you’ll need video documentation to prove I was actually on the field…but I assure you, I’ll be there. I couldn’t pass up the chance to hang out and get dirty with my HR rockstars 🙂 but also to help put an end to child hunger.

Sunday, June 16th, Dovetail Software and Dice will be sponsoring SHRM Kickball 2013 to benefit the No Kid Hungry campaign. We will be playing in Grant Park in Chicago, and have an all-star list of social media personalities making up the rosters. Our target is $5,000 and I know you can help make a diffrerence.

To make a donation, even of just a few dollars, please click here to visit our fundraising page. No amount is too small (or too large) to have an impact.

No Kid Hungry connects kids in need with nutritious food and teaches their families how to cook healthy, affordable meals. The campaign also engages the public to make ending childhood hunger a national priority. This year, more than 16 million children in America will face hunger. That’s one in five. No Kid Hungry is working to connect hungry kids with the food they need to grow and thrive.

Check it out!

  • We will be assembling at Grant Park (field #1) at 7pm Chicago time to play kickball.  Come and join us — have a great time, socialize and help raise money for a great cause.
  • DONATE. Did you know that a $1 donation can help feed 10 kids? $10 can feed 100. That’s pretty impactful if you ask me. All you have to do is click on my personal fundraising link here and click the “donate” button.
  • Get on Twitter and participate in the tweet-a-thon on Tuesday, June 11. Here is how it works: the fine people at Dovetail Software will donate $1 for every tweet that has the following items mentioned in the tweet: #SHRMKickball, #SHRM13 and @Dovetail.

Special thanks to my mates on the Blue and Green Teams (Dwane and Jeff) for providing me with logistics for this post 🙂
